Development of a Stakeholder Engagement Plan, an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment and a Resettlement Action Plan for a water desalination project in Lomé

Mission:
AMEA Power has entered into a public-private partnership to build and operate a water desalination plant in Togo to meet the growing demand for drinking water in Greater Lomé.
As part of this project, and in order to plan the management of the E&S challenges of its project, AMEA Power commissioned the Insuco – Oryx Expertise consortium to carry out an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) and the associated management plans, in accordance with national requirements and international standards. A Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP) and a Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) including a Livelihood Restoration Plan (LRP) are also expected.
Results:
At the end of the service, the following deliverables were produced:
- Scoping report
- Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP)
- Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) and Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP)
- Mapping of E&S constraints
- Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) and Livelihood Restoration Plan (LRP)
