Update of the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment of the Damerjog oil jetty project
Client : Djibouti Port and Free Zone Authority
Mission:
Located near the town of Damerjog, about 10km from Djibouti city and 1km from the Somali border, the Djibouti Damerjog Industrial Development (DDID) project was a free zone project focusing on heavy industries, ship repair and livestock transport. Started in 2018, the project is expected to last 15 years and consists of 3 development phases including a pilot phase consisting of the construction of an oil jetty. It is in this context that Insuco has been mandated to carry out the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment of the construction of the oil jetty of the DIDD project. This ESIA is composed of an impact study, a stakeholder engagement plan and an environmental and social management plan.
Results:
The following deliverables were handed over to the client:
- An environmental and social impact assessment meeting IFC standards
- A stakeholder engagement plan
- An environmental and social management plan.
