Technical support and capacity building for monitoring and reporting on the activities of the Firmenich Foundation’s support to the National School of Débouchette – Haiti
Mission:
Firmenich, a Swiss company specializing in flavors and fragrances, has supported the National School of Débouchette, located in southern Haiti, through its charitable foundation since 2010.
This long-term commitment to the education sector has resulted in the reconstruction of school infrastructure, provision of food and educational materials, a teacher training program, and the establishment of a mobile clinic.
This mandate follows a previous support (2022-2023) provided by Insuco Haiti in technical assistance to the local project management team, strengthening monitoring tools and documenting project activities. This collaboration was renewed in 2024 to assist the local team in implementing the action plan developed during the initial phase of support. The support included periodic remote monitoring by the local project coordinator for the preparation of quarterly and annual reports for 2024. A participatory needs identification workshop for the school was also organized to develop the 2025 annual budget to be submitted to the Firmenich Foundation.
Results:
Insuco provided the following services:
- Quality control and technical assistance for the production of quarterly and annual reports (technical and financial aspects);
- Periodic meetings to clarify and finalize the reports produced by the local coordination;
- Participatory workshop for assessing the school’s needs;
- Support in reviewing the reports and the annual project budget.
