Study of agricultural land prices in the area of the Jacqueville town in Ivory Coast
Client : Compagnie Ivoirienne de Production d’Electricité (CIPREL) – Eranove Group
Mission:
The Eranove group plans to build a thermal power plant with a capacity of 390 MW called Atinkou in Taboth, a village in the district of Jacqueville, capital town of the Lagoons region. The Atinkou project is strategic for the Republic of Ivory Coast as it is in line with the Ivorian government’s policy on access to electricity and respond to the country’s growing electricity needs.
In this framework, Insuco has been mandated to carry out a study of agricultural land prices in the commune of Jacqueville for the National Company of Electricity Production (CIPREL). The general objective of this mandate was to elaborate a reference framework of agricultural land prices in the commune of Jacqueville to compare it to the compensations proposed by the Ciprel 5 project to the PAPs (people affected by the project) of the Atinkou power plant.
The specific objectives were :
- Develop a method for collecting land prices;
- Conduct a field investigation ;
- Evaluate and draft recommendations on the compensations proposed by the company in relation to market prices;
- Elaborate the study report and submit it to Ciprel 5 for validation.
Results:
The following deliverables were presented to the client:
- A study report on land prices in the commune of Jacqueville;
- A report on the implementation of the participatory mechanism.
