Site visit and stakeholder engagement during a field mission for a geothermal project in Djibouti
Client : Environmental Resources Management (ERM)
Mission:
ERM wanted to carry out a geothermal project in Djibouti. An ESIA, an ESMP and a PEPP were prepared for the geothermal exploration phase, but these were deficient and needed to be updated to the relevant standards. The financial backer recommended a site visit because of the weakness of the data. ERM therefore commissioned Insuco Djibouti to accompany it on the site visit and to meet stakeholders.
Results:
The assignment involved accompanying the environmental expert into the field to meet local stakeholders (village chiefs, prefect, regional president) and inhabitants/nomads living in the study area, and to analyse the physical environment of the sites.
Insuco produced the following deliverables:
- Minutes of the interviews conducted with the stakeholders impacted by the project (village chiefs, prefect, regional president, inhabitants).
