Carrying out a socio-economic diagnosis focusing on businesses, users and vulnerable populations in order to propose solutions for the urban regeneration of the city of Arima (in socio-economic terms, mobility and digital connectivity)
Mission:
The Housing and Urban Development Division of the Climate Change and Sustainable Development Department of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Trinidad and Tobago, wanted to carry out a diagnostic to determine how the city centre of Arima, one of the country’s main cities, presents itself and functions as a place for business, work, leisure and travel. Insuco and MCRIT (Lead Partner) formed a consortium with Iber-Geo as a subcontractor, to provide a comprehensive analysis of the current experiences and trends existing in the city centre of Arima, in terms of administrative services, types of users, their experiences and uses, supply of urban equipment and facilities. This study made it possible to propose specific investments and measures to improve and strengthen the attractiveness of the city centre, the quality of the user experience and digital connectivity.
Results:
As part of this mandate, Insuco provided the following services:
- A documentary review;
- The production of data collection tools and matrices;
- On-site data collection for socio-economic assessment and mobility survey;
Insuco provided the following deliverables:
- A contribution to the inception report;
- A contribution to the socio-economic diagnostic report.
