Recent and ongoing projects

Mission:

The general objective of this Project, financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), is to provide support to the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) of Colombia in the process of advancing the Gender Equity Guidelines for the Mining and Energy Sector.

Insuco, in partnership with CoreWoman, implemented the following activities:

• Energise the political-private scheme created in 2020 with phase I “Energy that Transforms”, so that the collaboration scheme is consolidated;
• Conduct a sub-sectoral study on gender equity for informal, subsistence and small-scale mining;
• Design a sustainable scoreboard to enable the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) to measure the progress of the gender equity guidelines of the mining and energy sector and implement a strategy to ensure their sustainability;
• Strengthening of the institutional capacities in the territory, through a pilot project in a selected municipality.

Results:

The following deliverables were provided to the client:

• Updated work plan and timetable;
• Gender-sensitive study for informal, subsistence and small-scale mining;
• Updated indicator matrix for the implementation of the Gender Equity Guidelines for the Ministry of Mines and Energy and material produced in the framework of the public-private partnership scheme (autonomy and sustainability strategy, presentations, communication material, etc.);
• Material produced in the framework of the Strengthening Pilot;
• Final Report.
