Recent and ongoing projects

Mission:

Insuco was contracted to support ABS Africa in updating the environmental and social studies to comply with Malian legislation and to enable the Kobada gold project to obtain a new environmental permit. The specific objectives were to: (i) develop a stakeholder engagement plan, respecting international standards (Equator Principles, IFC performance standards); (ii) update the social baseline study (including data collection); (iii) draft a social impact study with reliable monitoring tools; (iv) develop a social management plan, based on the completion of the necessary consultations as provided for by Malian legislation regarding public consultations.

Results:

Insuco has submitted to the client:

• A Stakeholder Engagement Plan;
• A Social Baseline Study updated (quantitative and qualitative studies);
• Shape Files and cartography of collected data;
• A Social Impact Assessment;
• A draft Social Management Plan.
