Mission:
The main objective of AFD’s intervention in the energy sector in the DRC, and specifically in Kabinda, is to improve access to electricity in order to reduce territorial inequalities, while encouraging the development of “green” and sustainable electricity.
The aim of the contract was to carry out studies – a preliminary Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), a preliminary Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) and a Gender Action Plan (GAP) – to meet the requirements of international national regulations applicable in the DRC and the World Bank’s environmental and social standards (ESS).
Results:
Insuco has provided the following services:
- Review of available documentation and preparation of data collection tools;
- Data collection (meetings, interviews and consultations).
The mission resulted in the submission of the following deliverables:
- A scoping report including a work plan;
- A mission report;
- A Gender Action Plan (GAP) report
- An ESIA report
- A RAP report
