Survey and analysis of income, consumption and assets of Djiboutian households in the Arta and Tadjourah regions for the European Commission in Djibouti

Mission:

The European Commission sought to understand how and to what extent the development cooperation projects and programmes it supports contribute to the objective of reducing inequalities within countries. The European Commission has therefore developed a survey – the DIA+ tool – which measures the income levels of beneficiaries and would provide the same indicators in all countries. This study aimed to test the DIA+ tool by collecting data from 770 households in the Arta and Tadjourah regions.

Results:

Insuco provided the following services:

  • Revision of the questionnaire provided by the European Commission,
  • Conducting 770 household surveys,
  • Database cleaning,
  • Writing a field report detailing any difficulties encountered and suggestions for improving the questionnaire.

Insuco provided the following deliverables:

  • A methodological note
  • The household survey Excel database cleaned,
  • A field report: feedback from data collection in the field.
