Recent and ongoing projects

Mission:

Insuco supports EITI Colombia for the empowerment of civil society and communities in the department of Cesar that currently depends on extractive industries, through the development of an action plan that allows all actors in the territory to have a better understanding of the impact generated by the energy transition and the local implications of a just transition, with special emphasis on subnational revenues.

The strategic activities of this project are:

• To facilitate civil society and local communities to better understand the impact of the energy transition, specifically regarding variations in subnational revenues from extractive sector projects and renewable project opportunities in the department of Cesar, informed by EITI data;
• To provide the EITI Colombia MSG with a better understanding of local community needs, opportunities and potential risks and opportunities related to the energy transition;
• To provide the EITI Colombia MSG with opportunities to empower the voice of communities to ensure greater and better governance of natural resources;

Results:

To meet the objectives, Insuco develops the following deliverables:

• Work plan and outcome of the community selection;
• Document with assessment of subnational revenues from the extractive sector and energy transition;
• Report on the development of training for the community and civil society organizations;
• Report on the development of GMP and National Secretariat training and training of national and local authorities;
• Document with national engagement plan, strategy for stakeholder engagement and outreach;
• Final report.
