Needs analysis and evaluation of the relevance of the programmatic intervention of the Non-Governmental Organisation SOS Villages d'Enfants Haïti in terms of child protection in Cap-Haïtien, Les Cayes and Santo
Mission:
The non-governmental organisation (NGO) SOS Children’s Villages Haiti has been working in the country since 1978 to protect children and promote their rights, using two (2) complementary approaches: replacement care for children who have already lost parental care, and Family Strengthening Programmes (FSP) to prevent the loss of parental care. The organisation operates in three (3) areas, namely Cap-Haïtien (North department), Les Cayes (South department) and Santo (West department). In the three (3) zones, SOS VE Haiti has an SOS village (family-type replacement care) and a PRF.
Faced with the deterioration of the country context in Haiti, marked by a multifaceted crisis, the organisation wanted to evaluate its intervention strategy in order to analyse its relevance, take into account the potential new needs of beneficiaries linked to the country’s fluctuating context and readjust its intervention logic to prevent the risk of child abandonment.
