Presentation in Ecuador of the results of the first phase of the project on Transparent Governance and the social benefits generated in industries exploiting non-renewable natural resources
Last August, at the invitation of the Ecuadorian Chamber of Mines, INSUCO presented the results of the first phase of capacity building to GADs (Decentralized Autonomous Governments) and community leaders from 4 provinces on the theme Transparent governance and social benefits generated in industries that exploit non-renewable natural resources, in accordance with requirement 5 of the EITI standard (Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative).
This project was sponsored by the UK Embassy in Ecuador with non-repayable cooperation funds.
As a result of this project, it was found that the various territories needed to know more about the mechanism for accessing the social benefits of the extractive industry and a second phase was planned.
