Insuco participated in the 22nd session of the international annual conference organised by the International Francophone Secretariat for Environmental Assessment (SIFEE) in Cotonou, Benin
The Insuco team had the great honor to be part of the 22nd international annual conference organized by the SIFEE from the 12th to the 14th of September 2019 in Cotonou, Benin. Focusing on “Environmental Assessment and Land Issues”, the event brought together 150 to 200 stakeholders in the field of environmental assessments from the governmental, academic and private sectors of more than 25 countries in Africa, Europe and Asia. Together, we were able to share our thoughts on the subject chosen this year, as well as exchange on lessons learned and good practices that could be implemented, according to specific contexts.
During this conference, our Chief Executive Officer, Pascal Rey, had the opportunity to lead a discussion on the policies of Melkisation and land issues in Morocco and our General Manager Africa, Peter Hochet, presented a more global inventory of land issues in Africa. Ingrid Jeanne, Technical Director in our Guinea office, described on the other hand the practices concerning land studies as well as legal needs in order to achieve real and efficient integration of a project within its territory, and Louise Pierre, Technical Coordinator in our Djibouti office, introduced the challenges encountered when developing Resettlement Action Plans in informal urban contexts in Djibouti.
Many thanks to the SIFEE for their invitation and to all the participants for the quality of the exchanges!
